£130 allows a week of car fuel for Human Rights Observers. HRO observe police operations in Calais and Dunkerque in order to document, challenge and denounce breaches of human rights. Protecting refugees' physical safety and legal status is vital. Our work involves being present as much as possible during police checks and operations, such as evictions, in order to document and denounce any kind of State and/or police violence. The evictions are most often illegal or do not comply with standards set by French law, so the images and data we collect while on the ground are also used as evidence by our jurists and the lawyers we work alongside.
